Overview
Breaking News Studio ("BNS", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you create and post styled breaking news banners to Bluesky. We take your privacy seriously. In short: we don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
Data We Do Not Collect
BNS does not collect, transmit, or share:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Your Bluesky credentials or account information
- Your photos or images
- Your posts or compose drafts
- Browsing history or activity
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
BNS stores your banner templates using Chrome's built-in local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device and is never sent to any server operated by BNS or any third party.
How the Extension Works
BNS operates entirely within your browser. When you use the Image Builder, your photos are processed locally using the HTML Canvas API. No image data is uploaded to or processed by any external server. Posting to Bluesky is handled through your existing Bluesky session — BNS does not access, store, or transmit your Bluesky login credentials.
Third-Party Services
BNS interacts with Bluesky (bsky.app) solely to inject banner images into the native Bluesky compose window on your behalf. Your use of Bluesky is governed by Bluesky's own Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
